IELTS Speaking Part 2 tip

If you think talking for two minutes is difficult, go into more detail.

Example with no detail – ……. she lives in London and works as a dentist.

Example with detail – ….. she lives in a beautiful old, detached house in north London with her daughter, three cats and Olly the dog. She still works as a dentist, but although I love her dearly, I wouldn’t recommend anyone to get her to fix their teeth. She can’t see very well but won’t admit it.

IELTS Speaking Part 3 tip

When giving reasons as an answer, try to organise them, so you sound more coherent. You could also use an example.

Example without organisation – They do that because they want to earn more money and have a better lifestyle. They also want the best education possible for their children as well as impressing their friends and family.

Example with organisation – They do that for several reasons. The three which come to mind at the moment are firstly, they want to earn more money, which would then lead to a better lifestyle. Secondly, like everyone, they want to give their children the best education possible. For example, send them to the local private school. And finally, people like that seem to it is important to improve their social status and impress their family and friends.
