Letter of Complaint

You asked the bank for a new chequebook two weeks ago but you haven’t received anything. Write a letter to the manager complaining about the service. Say how and when you ordered the chequebook. Tell them when you need the chequebook by and ask the manager to send it to you before this date.

Dear sir / madam,

My name is Alan Williamson, and I am writing to you to complain about the time it is taking for my new chequebook to arrive. I have been a customer at this bank for over 20 years and have never had any problems such as this previously.

I ordered the my new chequebook in the branch at 11:30am on Monday 15th of June and was assured it would be delivered to my address within a week. That was over two weeks ago and I am afraid that someone at the bank has either misplaced it or sent it to the wrong address.

As I said, there has never been any problems in the past, and although I know you are a recently promoted manager, I expect you will be able to move this along quickly. I need my new chequebook by the 3rd of July (in three days time) when I depart on a business trip.

Please ensure that it is delivered to my address by that time, otherwise, I will have no option but to lodge a complaint with your regional manager, Mr Roger Delaney, who I know quite well.

I am looking forward to you confirming the receipt of this letter, the prompt delivery of said chequebook and the resumption of the exceptional service I have come to expect from your bank.

Your sincerely

Alan Williamson
