Sample Answer

1 minute to compare and contrast the two pictures you have chosen as well as answer the two questions.

I’d like to choose the first and third photos. As far as I’m concerned, the young people in the first picture will gain valuable environmental insights from volunteering to plant trees, while it looks as if the woman in the third photo is teaching a child to draw or paint, which will stand her in good stead as she grows up. The tree planters will also benefit from doing outdoor activities and working as a group, while the child’s skills should improve quickly due to the one-to-one coaching. I would say that although the young girl will benefit more from her experience because she’s starting at a much younger age and the volunteers will know very quickly if they are suited to tree planting in what can sometimes be a harsh environment outdoors.

Decide if you want to choose the most similar pictures or the most different BEFORE you even take your test. That shows you what you can talk about first.

Good use of comparisons including ‘although’.

I thought some good vocabulary was used.
