C1 Advanced Speaking Part 2 Quiz

Question

Why might the people enjoy working in these places?

What difficulties might they have?

C1 Advanced Speaking Part 2 - 2 men in red overalls cleaning high windows
C1 Advanced Speaking Part 2 - 2 men feeding orangutans milk
C1 Advanced Speaking Part 2 - An open plan office with many workers at their desks.

Sample Answer

1 minute to compare and contrast the two pictures you have chosen as well as answer the two questions.

I’d like to choose the first picture and the third picture. It looks as if the people in the first picture are professional window cleaners. If they are, then they’ll enjoy going to different places and seeing inside different buildings. Although some of the difficulties might arise from the height of some of the windows. Whereas those in the third picture probably don’t enjoy their work too much because it looks as if they’re working in a big open office, working on lots, working on computers, which can be really quite boring for some. The difficulties they may have could arise from the the work they are given by their boss or could it even be arise from the computers? So they’re inside with lots of people while the window cleaners are outside by themselves and.

Analysis

This is my opinion of the above answer. The answer was given as in a test, with minimal preparation time.

This way of answering is the most common. talk about one picture, then talk about the other. If you have time, then talk about them both. There are pitfalls doing it this way, the biggest one being that it is really easy to run out of time.

The word ‘whereas’ is used too much.

Limited vocabulary, with some repetition.
